In the 1851 Census James Telford and his family are living at Millgate, Cupar, Fife, Scotland. His wife Rachel is aged 29 and daughters Maria age 10, Christian age 4 and Sarah A age 1 were all born at Cupar, Fife. His widowed mother-in-law Sarah Beveridge, a former shop keeper, is also living with the family; she was aged 68 and had been born in Wales.
James aged 8 months was treated for measles on the Ramillies
