The Surgeon Superintendent of the Merchantman rated John Sims conduct as Very Good despite having attempted to take a bottle of rum into the Bermuda dockyard, Mrs Sims conduct was also Very Good; she needed medical treatment during the voyage.
11th February 1885 John Sims nephew (no name) asked the WO for information regarding John and was told he had died 12th April 1883 South Australia
