At least two of John Seery’s son joined the AIF during World War 1, John Joseph enlisted on 2nd April 1817 but as he was 48 years and 5 month of age he was discharged as being over the age limit. He gave his place of birth as Calcutta India, his next of kin was his wife Alice Marie and he was employed as a electric linesman. Brother Joseph John enlisted on 23rd November 1915 age 35 years and 6 months giving his next of kin as his brother John Joseph.
