13th March 1863 Prior to sailing Corporal Rice was reprimanded for allowing Private Bennett to sleep while on watch.
4th September 1868 purchased York Lot 276 of 5 acres 1 rood 10 perches
In March 1873 the Pensioners of York were called out to defend the home of Pensioner Matthew Rice from fire the Resident Magistrate report several Pensioners refused to report for duty.
