The Surgeon Superintendent of the Merchantman considered John Power’s during the voyage as Very Good despite having his liquor stopped for 2 days for not clearing the mess table. Mrs Power also got a Very Good rating. Daughter (Jane) Bridget was born on the last day of the voyage 14th February at 12 am.
1863 Nominated sister-in-law Kate BURNS aged 20 years of Kilfinora (sic) County Clare as Government Immigrant 1863.
John Power of the EIC was on the reserve list for the Enrolled Guard November 1880.
SROWA Cons 36 CSR Vol 805 folio 3 11th February 1875 qualified for grant of £15.
John and Mary died together from suffocation when a fire was lit in their bedroom for warmth at night and there was insufficient ventilation.
