Location Rawalpindi Discharge: Due to lumbago and rheumatism Awarded medal for Long Service and Good Conduct with gratuity of £5 Died while on duty Fremantle prison Johanna’s third husband Henry Cook was appointed warder at the convict establishment before leaving the UK. He arrived on the Esmeralda. He was a former soldier of the 35th Foot and later served with the Enrolled Guard. He was discharged from the 35th foot on 1846 with the right to apply for a deferred pension. He and his wife were living at the Fremantle Barracks in 1882. (Further information see MS James.) |
