In the 1841 Census of Newport Pagnell. Samuel is a fifteen year old living with his parents Joseph and Sarah and his brothers Isaac, John and Thomas. Joseph is working as an agricultural labourer and was not born in the county where as the rest are.
By the time of the 1851 census Samuel has left home and John is no longer with the family, Sarah, age 48, was born at Lewes, Sussex and Joseph, age 48, at Cranfield Bedfordale.
In the 1861 Census Samuel Placket (sic), age 36, is an unmarried soldier at the Gosport Barracks, Alverstoke, Hampshire England.
