Saturday 28th December the valuable property of Mr Oates was advertised for sale. It comprised 5 acres on which a 2 roomed cottage was built along with a well, pigsty, fowl houses and a lime kiln.
12th August 1881 Samuel Oaten requested permission to occupy an allotment of five acres No 32 near Fremantle having bought the adjoining Lot No 31. Staff Officer A R Thompson said he was discharged from the Enrolled Duty Force last November when it was disbanded after nearly 7 years service during which time his character was very good. Permission granted 24th August 1881 |
