13th June 1885 Colonel Angelo wrote to the Colonial Secretary regarding the application of pensioner Henry Kelly and his wife for relief. He said they had 2 sons far away and a daughter who was barely able to maintain herself. William Dale Superintendent of Poor House suggested allowing one ration per day.
9th September 1885 the ration was suspended as their sons who had been contacted agreed to forward £2 per month for their maintenance, SROWA Cons 527/1885/2289
The children above need to be increased by one son and decreased by one daughter or a pre 1885 death of a daughter.
