Joseph age 39 is working as a labourer and living with his wife Selina age 25 who was born ‘at sea’ and their daughters Ellen age 7 who was born at Port Natal and Selina age 4 who was born at the Cape of Good Hope. Son (Henry) Samuel age 2 was born Leicestershire England
November 1880 Joseph Jarvis was on the Nominal roll for the Enrolled Guard. He was living at No 1 Barracks Fremantle with his wife and 4 children.
He was appointed to the Guard on 13th April 1881 to 31st March 1887 when the Guard was disbanded.
19th January 1883 it was reported Selina Jarvis wife of Joseph Jarvis had died at the barracks at 7:15 in the morning.
Joseph was employed at the Fremantle magazine from 1st July – 30th September 1881.
