Discharge at own request although the medical officer remarked he was fit for further service.
In the 1861 Census Samuel Hudson, married, age 42, pensioner born Longborough Leicestershire is living at the home of his brother–in-law William Quail and his family at 9 Snow Hill St. Mary’s Nottingham, England, although his wife is not with him.
On 24th March 1863 during the voyage of the Clyde, Samuel Hudson was reported for disrespect by not answering his proper number when called for sentry and would not keep quiet when ordered – reprimanded and cautioned.
February 1867 Samuel Hudson gave notice that he would not be answerable for any debts his wife contracted in the Colony
