Further Information | British Army Worldwide Index 1841 James Hayden 568 Private 10th Foot location Manchester and Newcastle 1841 Census HO 107/586/15/43 Salford Barracks Manchester James Hayden is listed as a private but his wife Mary is not with the soldiers wives Discharge due to chronic rheumatism and dyspnoea 1859 Census of York Western Australia James Hayden (50) is living with his second wife Susan (26) and children of his first marriage James age 19, Patrick age 15, Lawrence age 13 all born England and Louisa age 9 born at sea. The land schedule was not filled in although they had 2 goats. James being fully literate signed the census. Daughter Elizabeth age 18 is living with her husband James Screech she said she was born Shearnest (sic). James signed the entry as ‘Screech’ 16th March 1861 James Hayden applied for his sister-in-law Ann Bradish age 18 single living Kilkenny to be sent out as a Government immigrant.
