Further Information“Served with the Army of the Indus during the campaigns of 1838/39/40/41/42. Present at the storming of Ghunzee and Tootemdurra forcing the passes from Cabool to Jellalabad and in the defence of the latter fortress, Present at the engagements of Jellalabad, Jugdallack Pass and Teczin and recapture of Cabool” – discharge documents.

Daughter Margaret aged 1 ½ years was treated for measles during the voyage of the Ramillies.
Somewhat unusual Patrick Gallagher was recorded as a married man at the time of his attestation.
There are three births for children named Gallagher in the Army Chaplains returns belonging to the 13th regiment in India which may or may not be his children.
