Further Information | A John Fennell of the 59th regiment was born Athlone 1856 who may have been a child of Michael and Elizabeth 1871 Census Rutherglen Lanarkshire Scotland. Michael Fennell is working as a domestic servant at the Eastfield Dye Works with his wife Elizabeth and children Emma, Thomas, Theresa and Michael. November 1880 Michael Fennel was on the nominal list for the Enrolled Guard. He was living at No 1 Barracks Fremantle with his wife and 3 children. He bought furniture at the Barracks sale of furniture to the value of £11/3/4. 24th January 1882 Michael was transferred from Fremantle to Perth. 31st October 1885 Private Fennel of the Enrolled Guard was appointed temporary gardener at Government House from November 7th at a salary of £1 per month. He was struck off the EG for the period of employment. His name was first raised as being appointed to GH as a gardener and caretaker 22nd September 1875 but this was cancelled Cons 527 1885/3838 |
