On the 4th January 1877 George Johnston, George Cook and George Barker were “…indicted with having on the 9th December last, assaulted one Peter Farmer a policeman, thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.” Barker was found guilty and sentenced to 6 months hard labour, the others were acquitted. Maud Barran’s registration of death said her mother was Elizabeth Peters although the newspaper Silver Wedding notice said she was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of Kilkenny. |
