Further InformationIn the 1841 British Army Worldwide index John Donnelly No 1427 was stationed at Bellary Madras India
John Donnelly was discharged due to contracting ophthalmia in both eyes on the voyage back home from Malta. Apparently it was prevalent in the regiment at the time.
January 21 1878 the Very Reverend Gibney requested that the four children of the late Pensioner Donnelly be received into the RC orphanage. She was allowed one shilling a day and recommended the children be admitted to the orphanage
