Further Information | Further Information British Army Worldwide Index 1851 William Davey 1903 Private 50th Foot location Ashton under Lyne Discharge due to Chronic rheumatism In the 1861 Census RG 09/1072/133/33 William and his family are living at Shuttleworth Cottage in Great Warley Essex. William is aged 39 a Chelsea Pensioner and working as a farm labourer. His wife Sarah is aged 27 and was born at Ingatestone Essex as were the children Thomas Francis age 8 and Jane E three years of age. There is no listing in the census for Sarah Ann. The name of William Davey’s wife is given as Sarah Francis on the marriage certificate, however, on his NAA transfer document it is given as Sarah Archer. The Civil registration for Jane Elizabeth said Archer. Request for Transfer to Victoria 1868 states he has one child over 14 years and 2 children under 14 years. Thomas Francis Davey left a will detailing his wife and children that can be found at VPRS 28/P0000 42/632. Although he died in South Australian his will was lodged in Victoria. |
