In the 1851 Census HO 107/1954/665 Stephen Beasley and his wife Jane are living at 15 Barley Fields in the parish of St Philip and St Jacob Bristol. Stephen is working as a labourer at and iron foundry.
Throughout her life Mary Jane was called by the alternate names of Jane, Mary Ann and Haywood.
There is possibly another child Alice Adelaide Beasley daughter of Stephen Beasley of Magill who married Joseph William Pratten 1 January 1874 and died in childbirth 11 March 1878 aged 26 years. No birth has been found but it must have been not long after their arrival in WA. His pension must have terminated before his departure for South Australia as his pension was not paid there.
