Further InformationBritish Army Worldwide Index for 1841 has Sergeant John Allan. 316, of the 42nd regiment stationed at Depot Carlow, Dublin or Stirling
Discharge due to chronic catarrh.
John Allen was the Sergeant Major for the voyage of the Minden.
WO23/48 and WO23/58 Part 3 both state stoppage of part pension for wife left destitute in India
The only information regarding the names and ages of the wife and children of John Allen was found at the State Record Office of Western Australia in Cons 628.
