It is recorded that Thomas had 9 children most of whom are unknown. A child Ellen Sarah was born 15th December 1847 to a Thomas and Sarah Maher of the 94th Regiment at Karrachee Belgaum. If this is our Thomas it appears he had 2 wives both Sarah as Sarah Brogan was born 1843 and could hardly be this child’s mother. No record has been found of the first marriage.
Son Thomas Francis enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force 26th April 1915.
(Georgina) Teresa Maher was an accomplished operatic singer and was held in high esteem especially in the goldfields; she married Kyran Brennan one of the founders of Brennan Bros drapery stores in the goldfields. After her marriage she continued singing and organising concerts for charity in and around Kalgoorlie. See Outbackfamilyhistory.com blog for further information.
