| Further Information | British Army, Worldwide Index: 1851 Location Edinburgh [WO12-9430] 1861 Location Rawalpindee, India [WO12 -9440] Sergeant Discharge: Unfit for continued military service from enlargement and stiffness of the right knee joint, the consequence of arthritic rheumatism for which he was first treated in June 1861, and which was caused by fatigue and exposure in the late Indian Campaign. He served throughout the Crimean War also and his constitution was a good deal impaired by that service. In the 1881 Scotland Census there is a Richard Hutchison b 1833 a shoemaker married to Mary and daughters Mary age 4 and Rebecca age 1 in the Registration district Hutchesontown, Glasgow. Born Renfrewshire – possible Richard and a second wife. |
