Further Information | Discharge due to “being emaciated of unhealthy appearance and having chronic dysentery of long standing.” He was treated for this complaint while on board the Minden and it was given as the cause of death. 1851 Census Eagle Court, St. Martin in the fields, Westminster, London George born Chelsea London age 42, single, was working as a porter and said he was a pensioner from the East India Company. 31 August 1871 George Grant was granted permission to enter the Perth Poor House but after being told he would have to forfeit his pension he did not make an appearance. It appears he may have been in the Colonial Hospital Fremantle at the time. |
