Fremantle location P58. 2 Acres Acc 473 An/158/5 Vol 34 gives the date as 20th September 1879. The description is as follows: On the EAST by 3 chains of Thompson Road, on the WEST by 3 chains of the Perth & Fremantle Road, of the NORTH & SOUTH by North Fremantle lots P57 & P59 each measuring 6 chains 68 links, all measurements more or less. The date given is 14 (24) 6. 81. In 1884 it was found that the lots numbered between 52 & 61 had been wrongly occupied so that although Michael Walsh had been assigned no 58 he had occupied number 59. The Commissioner of Titles worked out a plan, approved by the Governor, whereby they exchanged the titles to rectify the error. The cost was paid for out of the ‘Enrolled Guard Vote’. |
