Further Information	Embarked England 22nd July 1839 per “Duke of Lancaster” for India Embarked India 22nd August 1860 per “John Temperley” for England Discharge: Time expired The Surgeon Superintendent of the Merchantman rated Patrick Meehan’s conduct as Indifferent. His liquor was stopped for 4 days for causing a disturbance at 3am, for 2 days for neglecting to clear the mess table and again for 7 days for beating his wife. Mrs Meehan’s conduct was Very Good. Their daughter Mary who was age 9 months was treated for bronchitis during the voyage In 1867 Patrick Meehan was sentenced to 6 months hard labour for aggravated assault on his wife and his land lord John Bennett. Patrick Meechan (sic) was admitted three times to the (Royal) Adelaide hospital prior to his death. 2nd January 1869, age 48, married, RC, living Currie street, occupation labourer, born Limerick and had been 4 years in the Colony having arrived on the South Australian. 2nd June 1869 he was now living in Acklin street otherwise the information was the same and again on 18th December 1869 when he said he was living Adelaide.
