The Surgeon Superintendent of the Merchantman rated John Hamilton’s conduct as Bad after he was found to have rung the ships bell while on sentry duty and using threatening language to the Sergeant Major – liquor stopped for 2 days. He was also charged with insolence to the Sergeant Major and lost his liquor ration for 7 days. Mrs Hamilton and children John and Robert’s conduct was Very Good. Mrs Hamilton age 29 was treated for fever during the voyage.
1867 Struck off Pension list gone to Calcutta India however his pension was next paid 2nd North London.
