SROWA Cons 527/1207/21 17th January 1880 The Dean and the Reverend James Allen wrote to the Colonial Secretary saying a pensioner named Galbraith died of sunstroke and left a widow with young children. He asks that the 2 boys aged 6 and 7 should be placed in the orphanage Mother applied for two youngest sons aged 5 and 7 years to be admitted to orphanage. Admitted 24th January 1880. Uncertain which sons referred to as ages do not relate to births.
In 1893 William’s brother James Galbraith (late sergeant 89th regiment) of 28 Hudson Street Belfast Ireland advertised for information regarding William whereabouts stating he had left Belfast in about 1864. He was advised that William had died about 12 or 13 years previously at South Perth of natural causes.
According to the death notice for Ernest (Peter) Galbraith there was another brother George.
