In 1891 the Widow Cantwell had two rooms, at the Fremantle Barracks but she said she proposed going to the Home. But that did not happen as on 14 August 1899 Widow Cantwell requested that she be permitted to have her grandson ‘Pring’ living with her as he is an orphan – this is the same WT Pring (grandson) who attended her funeral in 1906 just which one of her daughters’ child he was has not established
Note: On 28th November 1891 prior to the Immigration Depot expanding the area it occupied in the Pensioner Barracks building in South Terrace Fremantle, Timothy McCarthy, (formerly 18th Foot) who was in charge of the Barracks, made an inventory of the twenty-one families living in the Pensioners quarters. He recorded the number of rooms they occupied and the names, ages and occupation of the children who lived with them.
