| Further Information | During the voyage of the Clara Richard Daly had his grog stopped for 2 days for going into the barracks with his accoutrements on – against orders. 1864 The Religious Instructor on the Clara wrote a Weekly Journal. Number 5 12th March has a witty poem that Jennie McGuire wrote about her life with Richard Daly whereby she records her maiden name and village where she lived prior to her marriage to ‘Dick’. It gives a definite name for Richard’s wife and a place of her birth in Limerick. See attached image of the poem. |
