AJCP reel 466/87 part 2 Folio 233 Proceedings of a Court of Inquiry into complaints by the wives of the Pensioner Guard on the Stag into the conduct of the Super Intendent Surgeon Caldwell. Mrs Susan Mash gave evidence that she was one of the women who objected to being examined by Surgeon Caldwell. She also gave evidence re the treatment of Mrs Brown. John Mash also gave testimony re the state of their marriage. After the death of his wife Susan in 1860 John Married Julia Valpied in 1862, however this marriage had its problems as he advertised in the newspaper in 1874 he was not responsible for any debts she incurred. No death has been found for Julia. |
