It is not yet known if Edward Martin remained in Western Australia or lived and died elsewhere. A detailed memorandum by Lt. Col Bruce (CO 18 Piece 140 part 1 page 149) in reference to the manner in which two sentries (Edward) Martin and Molloy discharged their duty on the occasion of the escape, from the North Fremantle chain gang, of 10 convicts, on the evening of the 14th March 1864.
