Discharge due to a gunshot wound to the left shoulder received 8th September 1853 at the attack on the Redan causing stiffness of shoulder joint and the weakness in the arm.
Bridget’s first husband died intestate and it appeared that Bridget as his relict inherited his estate which included lot 189 in Norfolk street Fremantle consisting of 6 cottages, land in Cantonment street and 196 Suffolk street, Fremantle and Cockburn valued between £800 and £1,000.
In 1881 a claimant (heir at law) to the estate turned up in the form of Charles’s brother George Sevier of Portsmouth. Bridget was dispossessed of her fortune and as a dower or widow relict awarded the sum of £115 and the mortgages over the properties that she, Charles and William had taken out paid in full.
