Further Information | The British Army Worldwide Index for 1851 has Edmund Roach service No 3064 of the 34th regiment stationed at Barbados West Indies Discharge: Unfit for further service due to the loss by amputation of the middle and ring finger of the right hand after being wounded by musket shot on the attack at the Quarries 7th June 1855 Mentioned in Surgeon’s Log Monday 3rd July 1865 as being reported for using disrespectful language to Corporal Johnson whilst on duty and grog stopped for 7 days. On 24 June 1876 Edward Roach having built the walls of his 2 roomed cottage on his free grant Y141 requested the mandatory payment of fifteen pounds |
