Soldier born Dublin, Dublin was a prisoner at the District Military prison Alverstoke South Hampton Discharge: Due to chronic liver disease, chronic hepatitis Although John Keefe was in NZ at the time of the Maori wars he is not listed in any of the Waikato regiments. The pension payment records available stop in 1876 and anything after that is speculation. The marriage entries and births of children may or may not be those of John Keefe of the 7th regiment. New Zealand Land records a John Keefe a labourer had 20 acres of land in the Kerryton area of the value of 100 pounds. |
