Discharge: Due to dyspnoea and debility
Mrs Catherine Whitehouse ,wife of William Whitehouse 36th Regiment, gave evidence at the trial of Captain Foss that she had deposited £18 with Captain Foss for safe keeping, she had subsequently with drawn £3 leaving an amount owing of £15.
It is possible William was a widower when he came to Western Australia as a William Whitehouse was the father of a Mary Jane Whitehouse born 26th February 1852, baptised 14th March 1852 at Frome in Somerset, the mother was Caroline.
On 22nd July 1878 William Whitehouse was admitted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died on 5th August 1878. At the time he was a married man, 65 years of age, a Roman Catholic, living at Portland Estate, born Somerset. He arrived in the Colony in the ship Adelaide and had been 23 years in the Colony
