Maria’s obituary said her father was colour and pay sergeant Joseph Kennedy
When Maria died it was as Maria Hancock but no marriage has been found on the WA BMDs. The Bi-Centennial dictionary said Thomas Hancock Married Maria Hickey (sic) daughter of Joseph Kennedy 5 October 1875 York C of E Obituary coy about her second husband.
The Bicentennial Dictionary thinks he was an expiree. His death is also unknown.
