Further Information | Note on Attestation Papers states ” Embarked for East Indies 5th July 1834″ In Afgahnistan was present at the storming of Ghunzee Tootundurra Jalzah Cohistan in 1840 Present at several engagement forcing the passes from Cabool to Jellalabad in 1841 and 1842 in the defence of the latter fortress in 1842.Present in the action of Jellalabad and Tezeen and recapture of Cabool in 1842. Served in the Army of the Sutlej present at Battle of Sobraon and occupation of Lapore in 1846. Served in the campaign of 1848 and 1849 including the siege operation against Mooltan surrender of the fortress and battle of Goojerat. Wounded in left shoulder at Sobraon.
