The 70th regiment was stationed 1831 Ireland, 1834-1836 Gibraltar, 1838 Barbados, West Indies, 1841 Laprairie Canada, 1843 Portsmouth & Manchester England, 1845 Newry, Dublin & Templemore Ireland, 1848 Cork Ireland, 1848 East Indies, Charles was discharged Chatham 1852. By following these postings we are able to get some idea of the children of this marriage although there may have been more.
WO23/59 shows this man having gone to South Australia. However, believe this has been transcribed incorrectly from the information concerning the ship arrival “Adelaide”.
