The Surgeon Superintendent recorded Robert and Susan McLaughlin were accompanied by the children Amelia age 16, Edwin age 14 and Alfred age 12 on the voyage to Western Australia
Susannah reverted to her name Grimwood when she and her two sons Alfred and Edwin left Fremantle 15th September 1854 on the ship Fergus to journey to Melbourne.
Susannah Grimmood (sic) married her 3rd husband James Ethersey at Melbourne 1859.
Amelia’s husband John Skeldon had been a convict on the Minden, he appears to have returned to England while Amelia went to Victoria with her family. Amelia died as the result of her clothes catching fire; her death was also registered as Grimwood.
