Mentioned in Surgeon’s Log Friday 7th July 1865 as having negligently performed his duty whilst on sentry in main hatchway. Grog stopped for 7 days.
In the 1861 Census for Scotland a John McKay age 40, a railway labourer, born Tongue was a lodger at the Victoria Model Lodging House for Males at 97 Overgate Dundee. He said he was a married man.
He was in an asylum in NZ from December 1875 until his death in 1881 aged 61. See WO22/278-WO22/292
