The birth and baptism information is contained in the fly leaves of the McGovern family bible as is the death of Catherine McGovern nee Brotherson. Patrick McGovern (Jnr) died before 18th September 1920 as his wife (Anna Luisa Lydia McGovern, widow) married Karl Vogelsang at Unley South Australia. Both the DPS shipping site and the Bi-Centennial Dictionary erroneously claim Patrick McGovern also was known as Peter McGowan and married Catherine Foot nee Foran in 1875 at Greenough. Patrick McGovern died in 1891 and his wife Catherine McGovarn(sic) nee Brotherson died in 1880 while Peter McGowan died in 1907. Further inquiry reveals Peter McGowan was a convict whose actual name was George Peters.
