Served in the campaign of 1848/1849 including the whole of the siege operation against Mooltan, action of 7th November 1848, battle of Goojerat 2 December 1849. Despite all this he does not appear on the medal list for the 10th regiment
Possibly Anastasia deserted husband in 185315th January 1853 Captain Bruce wrote to the Colonial Secretary regarding the wife of Pensioner Patrick Morrissey living with a Ticket of Leave man Hartshorn. He requested Hartshorn being deprived of his Ticket of Leave and returned to the Convict Establishment if he persisted with his relationship with Mrs Morrissey as it reflected badly on the Enrolled Force
