Transferred to England for further medical treatment In the 1851 Census of England Timothy Moran is living with his wife Esther and family at Walker Street Manchester. Willian is age 7 and was born in the East Indies Mary Ann is aged 3 and was born at Manchester as was Margaret who is age 12 months. It is debateable if Esther died prior to the voyage to Australia and Timothy married a woman called Anne Jane (surname unknown) who after his death married Thomas Arment in 1864. The newspaper account of her death said she was the wife of a pensioner, On 15th April 1858 the Surgeon Superintendent on the Lord Raglan recorded “Mrs. Moran, wife of Private Moran of Pensioner Guard, was prematurely delivered of a daughter. Mother and child both doing well.” On 29 April 1859 the Resident Magistrate Fremantle nominated pensioners SGs Peter Gallagher William Swift, William Thompson Cornelius Murphy and Timothy Moran to be given a reward commiserate with that awarded to the Water Police for their involvement in the pursuit of five escaped prisoners on the boat Zillah.
