Further InformationJohn Molloy did not take easily to Army life and he was posted as a deserter of 12th April 1838 however he re-joined the regiment of 19th December 1839 sentenced to 8 weeks imprisonment and branded with a D.
10th October 1876 John Molloy was convicted of being drunk while on duty and fined one pound and imprisoned for 84 days and his pension suspended.
6th March 1877 his wife applied for the payment of half his pension during the period of imprisonment.
