In the 1851 Census Richard Mallett age 24 Single born Liskard (sic) Cornwall gunner & driver is living at the Bovisand Battery at Plymstock, Devon England.
Discharge due to would of the right wrist caused by a minie bullet while serving in the trenches before Sebastopol. Followed by fever difficulty in breathing and a slight cough.
