Further Information | British Army, Worldwide Index 1841 Location Glasgow and Edinburgh Discharge due to Chronic rheumatism Sergeant Loton was second in command of the pensioners on the voyage of the Robert Small 1853 Both his wife Ann LOTON and daughter Elizabeth signed a letter of thanks to the Surgeon Superintendent of the Robert Small In 1879-1882 he is shown as Sergeant of Pensioners at Kojonup in some of the Western Australia almanacs 7th April 1878 Police Lance Corporal Carmody reported that when he tried to hand over the mail to Post Master Loton he found him drunk and abusive. He further stated that his wife who was also the Kojonup school teacher was also in a drunken state and her conduct had been complained of by different people, a meeting had been called by the school board for hearing the complaints. |
