In the 1871 Census William is living with his wife and family at Netherburn Village Dalserf, Scotland. His occupation is given as ‘Pointsman’. Daughter Margaret born 1865 is wrongly identified as Mary
William was admitted to Kilmainham hospital on 1 March 1886 he reverted to being an outpatient on 1 April 1887 only to be admitted again 30 September 1887 and again on 1 August 1892 where he appears to have died on 9 April 1898
