His occupation is given as ‘Pointsman’. Daughter Margaret born 1865 is wrongly identified as Mary In the 1881 Census of Canada William and his family are living at Ward 3, Charles Street Hamilton Ontario Canada. William is age 47, born Ireland, religion C of E, working as a labourer Mary is age 44, born Ireland, religion C. Methodist. John age 17, born Australia, occupation upholsterer Thomas age 22, born Australia is also an upholsterer Eliza, age 18, born Australia is a servant Maggie age 15, born Ireland is also a servant Mary age 13, born Ireland has no occupation William age 10, born Ireland Alexander age 9, born Scotland Annie age 7, born O (Ontario) James age 2, born O (Ontario) William was admitted to Kilmainham hospital on 1 March 1886 he reverted to being an outpatient on 1 April 1887 only to be admitted again 30 September 1887 and again on 1 August 1892 where he appears to have died on 9 April 1898 In the 1891 Census of Canada Mary, age 54, is still living at Ward 3 Hamilton, Ontario and is now the head of the family. She said she was a widow. Alexander Lennox, date of birth 27th December 1872, is a minister in the Congregational church, a lodger in the home of Francis Riccard.
