We do not know how many children Bernard and Catherine had but we have listed births for nine, Fred Kain is mentioned in Caroline Platt’s obituary as her brother, so far his birth has not been found although a Frederick Kane died in March 1904 aged 60. Caroline Platt died in 1927 age 79 which suggested her birth was 1848. The Bi-Centennial Dictionary said she may have been the sister of Bernard Kain who witnessed the marriage; however, we have listed her as a child of Bernard and Catherine.
In the obituary for Patrick Bernard Kain it said he was the second son of Bernard Kain so we are missing one son, maybe Frederick.
On 1st September 1862 Bernard Kain, warder, applied for full title to Avon location 194 of 2 acres the purchase money was £1/10/0
WO23 shows having gone to Adelaide South Australia. However, believe this information incorrect and has been confused with the name of the Ship arrival.
