1841 John Hawkins Gunner & Driver RA 2nd Battalion 5th Company located Chambly Canada
1851 Location Woolwich
In the 1851 Census entry for soldier John Hawkins he is employed as a servant for the captain of the cadet corps at Woolwich, his age is married, age 38 and his place of birth is given as Tyrone, Tyrone but surprisingly he has a wife Elizabeth Hawkins age 35, born 1816 at Carlisle Cumberland who is working as a general servant.
Elizabeth does not appear to have come to Australia.
Unfortunately we are not able to find his marriage although the RA would have a record of it.
