Further Information“Was present at the battle of Alma, sortee at Inkerman on 26th October 1854, battle of Inkerman and siege and fall of Sebastopol.”
Discharge: wounded in the left thigh 4th August 1855 in the trenches before Sebastopol
Corporal William Hanley and his wife Mary arrived on the Merchantman 1864 with their children Richard, Catherine, Mary and Michael. The Surgeon Superintendent recorded their conduct as ‘Very Good’.
Mary Hanley and 5 children departed for Adelaide on the Sea Ripple the ship William left is unknown.
